Public records are also accessible through third-party websites. These websites offer tools and services that allow users to perform extensive searches for specific or multiple records. To initiate a public record search through these tools, users would need to provide some information about their requested record. These include the subject’s name, current or last known address, and a case number. Each year, the South Carolina state law enforcement division (SLED) compiles an annual report of crime trends at the state’s county level.
